Magazine Cover Design Reflection
The assignment was to create a magazine cover using Photoshop that displays your self getting recognized for something that you have done, something like a life goal you want to accomplish. We had to decide on the reason why we are on the magazine then basically sketch out on a worksheet what we want the magazine to look like, including the pose we are in and the title of the magazine.
My magazine cover was a replica of a regular “Time” magazine altered a bit with my picture in the corner. On the magazine cover the headline read “Undercover Narcotics Officer Makes Big Bust In Providence” and in the background is a picture of recovered drug bust evidence (A few guns and a large amount of money and marijuana). In the corner of the whole magazine layout is myself in a police officers uniform.
On the magazine cover I posed in a very basic standing position making a rather serious face. I made a serious face because I knew that I would later Photoshop my head onto the body of another picture of a police officer in uniform. I believe me making that face made my magazine cover more realistic, Police Officers have to keep a certain look of authority and that can not be expressed by smiling or making some other type of goofy looking facial expression.
Looking at my rubric I think I did a pretty god job on my magazine. I used a plethora of Photoshop tools, like the lasso tool, the blending options, the cropping tool and a bunch of others. I put a lot of hard wok into this project, the visual of the magazine is rather remarkable in my opinion and I am very proud of myself for doing such a good job considering this was one of my first times using Photoshop.
